CONTENTS OF THE KNP EXAMPLES DISK

Congratulations! You now have one of the most powerful tools for getting
things accomplished in Klik & Play. This diskette (or download file)
contains the Klik & Play FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) and Example
Pack which is a collection of examples on how to accomplish basic things
in Klik & Play that is either not available in the users manual that
comes with the product, or is not expressed or explained clearly in the
manual.

Whatever question you may have, whether it's how to do something, or if
it's a problem or error message while installing or using the Klik &
Play game design program- the answers are probably in the KNP FAQ. Read
the FAQ, and if you didn't see your answer please re-read the FAQ again
because there is so much information in it that you may have just simply
missed the answer. If you still have some difficulty consult section 7
of the FAQ on how to get additional support for the product.

The FAQ and examples take up more than 1.44 megs (the maximum room for
storage on a diskette) and as such I've compressed the entire set of
files into one file. The file is available on diskette or as a download
file from the Maxis web page.

If the file came to you on a diskette, open the Windows Explorer
(Windows95) or File Manager (Windows 3.1 users). Click on the "A:" drive
(or whatever letter is your floppy diskette drive is) and the file named
"KNPpack.exe" or "knppack.exe" should be listed there.

Installing the FAQ + Examples Pack is as easy as double clicking on the
file "KNPpack" and then clicking on the button labeled "Unzip" from the
menu that popped up. This will create a folder called "KNPpack" in the
folder called "KNP" (which is where Klik & Play installed to originally-
unless you changed it).

Using the examples is as simple as opening one of the 10 sub-folders,
and double clicking on the example game file. All KNP game files end in
".GAM". To Study the examples you should also start Klik & Play, then
select "Load Game" off the "File" menu and load each sample in to take
a look at the "objects" in the "Level Editor", and the "conditions" in
the "Event Editor". This is how you study the examples I've made so that
you can understand how to make things happen in KNP.

The KNP FAQ (or Frequently Asked Questions) is a sub-folder called
KnpFAQ located in the KNPpack folder. If you have MS WORD then double
click on the file that ends in ".DOC" otherwise click on the other file.
(.RTF)

All examples are ".GAM" files, which means you MUST have Klik & Play
installed on your computer to use these examples.

Have fun---------Cosmo----------
